Dr. Lucy Blaney-Laible studied Spanish at the University of Kansas (B.A.) and the University of Arizona (M.A.), where she later also completed her PhD in Spanish and Luso-Brazilian/Hispanic Comparative Literatures. During graduate school she taught various language courses at the University of Arizona and worked as a tutor for public speaking, rhetoric and essay writing. Upon completion of her doctorate, Lucy moved to Germany where she has worked as an English instructor at the Hochschule der Medien in Stuttgart. Lucy was debating champion at her high school in Kansas and speaks four languages: English (mother tongue), Spanish, Portuguese and German.
